Trinseo's TPE Solutions are polymers or polymeric compounds that possess both thermoplastic and elastomeric properties at working temperature. Our TPE portfolio includes styrenic block copolymers (RAPLAN™ TPS-SBS and MEGOL™ TPS-SEBS), olefinic thermoplastic elastomers (APIGO™ TPO, NEOGOL™ OBC), thermoplastic rubber vulcanizates (TIVILON™ TPV), and copolyester thermoplastic elastomers (API L™ TPC). They offer broad design flexibility and can enable significant cost-savings as a result of their easy processability in all common transformation technologies, e. g. injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, and blow molding.
We can customize the TPE formulations for optimum adhesion on most of the common rigid plastics substrates particularly for overmolding technology. The overmolding of soft TPEs on rigid plastics delivers genuine advantages for a product's functional, visual, acoustic, and tactile properties.
Our adhesion-modified TPEs can be overmolded on Trinseo's MAGNUM™ ABS and PULSE™ PC/ABS. They are also available in adhesion-optimized grades for overmolding on various polyamides (PA6, PA66, PA12), polyesters (PBT, PET), POM and other polar polymers such as ASA, PMMA, or Trinseo's SAN, as well as for polyolefins (PP and PE), including special blends and reinforced materials such as our ENLITE™ LGF PPs.
In the light of increased consumer demand for products that are sustainable and environmentally friendly, we also offer a customized range of TPE grades that are partly or fully bio-based and/or biodegradable. These bioplastics can offer environmental benefits such as saving of global resources, reduced CO2 emissions, and lower water consumption.
