With our Core Values as our guide, Trinseo is committed to living out our company mission through volunteering efforts and charitable contributions, focused on making a direct impact in the local communities where our employees live and work, and educating and inspiring the next generation of professionals in chemistry and engineering.
Volunteer Days is an annual month-long community service initiative that brings together hundreds of Trinseo employees around the world to support their communities. Employees organize local volunteer events to donate their time, inviting their colleagues, family, and community members.
In June 2018, Trinseo employees and their families spent 2,382 hours volunteering at events in 20 locations across the globe.
In just four days, 24 dedicated Trinseo volunteers spent 285 volunteer hours to build a raised wooden boardwalk so students of Floyd Elementary School in Midland County, Michigan could access an on-site nature trail as part of the school’s science curriculum.
Thanks to hard work from Trinseo’s Eschborn, Germany team, the local zoo’s group of barbary macaques, an endangered species, now have a new large play pen built from recycled fire hoses and other repurposed materials.
STEM Mentoring in Zhangjiagang
As part of a partnership with the Center for Chemical Process Safety, Trinseo hosted a process safety workshop in Zhangjiagang, China for chemical engineering students from Nanjing Tech University, shared practical tips for job interviews and offered a tour of the facility to the future STEM leaders.
Mussolente Flood Donation
Following the severe storm and floods that impacted parts of Northern Italy in October of 2018, Trinseo’s Mussolente team decided to donate to the community of Rocca Pietore and to Serrai di Sottoguda Natural Park, among the most affected areas, in lieu of customer Christmas gifts.
As an industry leader with a commitment to business excellence, innovation, and sustainability, Trinseo representatives across the company belong to more than 50 trade associations, including in the plastics, feedstocks, latex, and rubber industries, as well as global, regional, and local business and chemical associations.
We use this opportunity to proactively engage in activities that support a more sustainable future and, together with industry partners, we work to influence public policy that is impactful for our industry.
Association Participation includes:
Operation Clean Sweep
Trinseo is proud to be a member of Operation Clean Sweep®, a plastics industry association effort to reduce plastic pellets in the environment. The prevention and limitation of pellet, flake, and powder loss is a priority in the plastics industry, and a critical issue for our environment. Consequently, we have signed the "Pledge to Prevent Resin Pellet Loss," and are conducting in-depth assessments of each facility's level of implementation of the Operation Clean Sweep program.
